How to read the game cues
- Unlock the Fishing Legendary Skill
This is the required gate. Do not treat the correct weather alone as proof that legendary fish are available before the skill is unlocked.
- Check the opening-of-day cue
An eligible day can show a legendary-fish silhouette when the day begins. The game can also display “A legendary fish is nearby...” when the relevant opportunity is present.
- Go to the listed water type
Use a pond for Cherry Fish, a river for Leaf Fish or Lightning Fish, and the ocean for Snow Fish. Then inspect only the small or medium shadow listed above.
- Keep the first catch for the collection decision
Legendary fish can be donated to the museum. Check collection status before choosing any other use for the catch.
Plan by season, not by time of day
Cherry Fish and Leaf Fish share wind but differ in season and water. Lightning Fish and Snow Fish share a medium shadow but differ in season, weather, and water. Those contrasts make the table more reliable than searching by shadow size alone. The cited evidence does not provide a time-of-day field for these legendary catches, so this page does not invent morning, afternoon, or night windows.
The opening silhouette and nearby message are cues, not replacements for the condition table. If the skill is unlocked but the season or weather does not match, the documented setup is incomplete. Likewise, a small pond shadow in spring is only relevant here when the weather is wind.
The wiki recorded only one of each legendary fish per save as of v0.12.0. That is an explicit old-version note, not a confirmed 1.0 rule. This guide does not use it to promise that a missed, donated, or sold fish can never appear again in the current game.
