The short answer
The romance candidates are Adeline, Balor, Caldarus, Celine, Eiland, Hayden, Juniper, March, Reina, Ryis, Seridia and Valen. That 12-character list is reflected in the community wiki’s Characters reference. The official FAQ confirms eligible villagers are not locked by gender. Olric is not listed as romanceable, so he is not one of the 12 candidates.

This page does not assume that every candidate has identical scenes, schedules or route requirements. Use a character’s own page for route-specific details rather than applying one person’s event conditions to everyone.
Gift points: birthday versus an ordinary day
The wiki’s Friendship reference reports that a loved birthday gift adds 40 friendship points and a liked birthday gift adds 30. On an ordinary day, a loved gift adds 20 and a liked gift adds 10. In other words, the documented birthday bonus raises both of those gift outcomes by 20 points.
| Gift reaction | Ordinary day | Birthday |
|---|---|---|
| Loved | +20 friendship | +40 friendship |
| Liked | +10 friendship | +30 friendship |
These values describe the cited gift reactions. They do not establish every possible friendship source, daily limit or route rule, so this page does not extrapolate beyond them.
What 1.0 changed, and what is not official here
PC Gamer’s coverage of the 1.0 release reports that romance progression now reaches 10 hearts. Its separate engagement-ring guide reports reaching 10 hearts and giving an engagement ring as the marriage threshold. Those are current media reports, not statements from the official FAQ: see the publication’s 1.0 changes report and engagement-ring guide.
The official FAQ supports only the gender-unrestricted eligibility statement used above. We have not treated the media’s marriage steps as an official NPC Studio specification, and we do not claim that parallel romances, breakups or every 10-heart route behave the same way without a source that documents those rules.
